Maruti Suzuki is planning to re-launch its high-end Maruti Grand Vitara SUV with more powerful 2.4 litre petrol Engine in order to create an impact in the sports utility vehicle (SUV) market.Current model of Grand Vitara, GV 2.4 is priced at around Rs. 14 lakh but the new model is expected to be priced a little higher than the existing one. The new model will compete against Toyota’s Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero, Hyundai Tucson, GM’s Captiva and Ford Endeavour in India.The Vitara is available in 2 versions - one with manual transmission and another with a four speed automatic transmission. The Grand Vitara is priced at 13.8 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
