Microsoft Announces the release of Internet Explorer 9 Beta version


Microsoft is going to launch Internet Explorer 9 beta version in this September. According to Microsoft, the Internet Explorer 9 is coming with more features while compare with previous versions of IE. The Internet Explorer 9 will support for W3C standards including HTML5 audio and video tags, and canvas elements, as well as Web Open Font Format (WOFF) were added and made accessible to everyone. Microsoft provide more compatibility, asupport web standards and increase its browser's speed by the release of this new IE9 browser.The Internet Explorer 9 will be supported by a new JavaScript engine (code named Chakra) with greater interoperability and standards. Now it is available for developers only.

“Internet Explorer 9 is the first browser to take standard Web patterns that developers use and run them better on modern PCs through Windows,” Hachamovitch said.

“Internet Explorer 9 enabling GPU-accelerated HTML5 is a milestone for visual computing,” said Drew Henry, general manager of GeForce and ION GPU business unit at NVIDIA Corp. “By harnessing the power of NVIDIA GPUs, Internet Explorer 9 removes the glass ceiling for Web developers, enabling them to build graphically rich, high-performing Web applications.”

Customize Windows 7 logon screen to suite your taste

To do this, go to Start, select Run and type regedit to open the Registry Editor window.

1. Customize Windows 7 logon screen to suite your taste. Navigate to the following registry key in the Registry Editor:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Au thentication\LogonUI

In the right pane add a DWORD value called ButtonSet and set its value ranging between 0-2. Each value is explained below.
* 0 – The value corresponds to lighter text shadows and darker buttons (this is Windows default setting)
* 1 – The value corresponds to darker text shadows and lighter buttons (best suitable for lighter backgrounds)
* 2 – The value corresponds to no text shadows and opaque buttons (best suitable for darker backgrounds)

Microsoft Releases new Internet Plugin Application Silverlight 3


Microsoft has launched Silverlight 3, newest version of its Rich Internet application (RIA) technology.The new plugin application will be a good competitor to Adobe Flash Player. Silverlight 3 is expected to offer enhanced internet usage experience especially with high quality video performance. The release is today, On the eve of the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, to be held in New Orleans.

The newest iteration of Silverlight includes over 50 new features, ranging from enhanced video performance and improved quality to support for Visual Studio, Expression Blend and running Silverlight applications from the browser. Browser-wise, Silverlight 3 supports the latest browser iterations, including Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.5, as well as GPU hardware acceleration.Microsoft Silverlight 3 can be downloaded at www.microsoft.com/silverlight. Users of Silverlight 2 will automatically be updated. Microsoft has also issued Silverlight 3’s software development kit (SDK), which can be downloaded from Microsoft’s site.

The new version of Silverlight application can be used in cases where no Internet connection is present. Silverlight 3 supports for IIS Smooth Streaming, which allows interactive 1080p HD video to be streamed using Microsoft's IIS web server software. Silverlight 3 takes advantage of 3D hardware acceleration.

Microsoft launches Kodu Game tool for Xbox Live




Microsoft has launched Kodu Game Lab, a tool that allows users to create their own video games on Xbox Live.



Kodu is a simple, game-building toolset where players can access 200 programming features using an image-based creation menu and an Xbox 360 controller.It’s purpose of design is to serve as a learning tool for children.



The Kodu Game Lab includes "a bridge and path builder,a terrain editor to build unique playgrounds, co-op gameplay for up to four players and 20 different characters with a range of abilities." The toolset is available in Xbox Live's Community Games Channel for $5.

Windows 7 release date Announced

Microsoft announced the release date of its new OS Windows 7 on October 22,2009.Windows Server 2008 will also be announced at that time.All Microsoft customers can enjoy all the benefits of Windows 7 once it is released.Microsoft OEM Division Cooperate Vice President Steve Guggenheimer,expressed the company's confidence in their new Windows 7 Version



“What we’re doing with Windows will continue to improve people’s lives so that that technology enables them to communicate better, make tasks simpler and new things possible,” he says. “Our partners in the hardware space, our competitors in software — the entire industry is doing incredible things.” said Mr. Guggenheimer.
