Volkswagen is going to unveil a new pure electric concept vehicle at Frankfurt Motor Show 2009. Volkswagen media people are keeping mum, but speculation persists that they've been silently working on an EV that will compete with the Chevrolet-based Opel Ampera. Naturally, details are sketchy, but most pundits agree that this vehicle will be purely electric, not a hybrid, and may be similar in size and may borrow bits of technology from the Golf Twin Drive diesel hybrid.
