Volkswagen launches 1.6L polo variants in the Indian Market

Volkswagen, Europee's largest car manufacturer has launched its new powerful 1.6Lpolo varient with 4 cylinder petrol engine with an output of 105PS @ 5250 rpm and a Torque of 153NM @ 3750 rpm, after the successful debut of the 1.2 l Polo in India earlier this year. The new 1.6L polo hatchback will be abailable at a price of 6.16 lakhs in the Indian markets.Commenting on this new variant, Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “with the introduction of this variant the Polo becomes even more exciting for our customers as it becomes more powerful and fun to drive while continuing to maintain all the features available in the 1.2 l Polo variant.’The new Polo variant sports a 1.6 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine with an output of 105PS @ 5250 rpm and a Torque of 153NM @ 3750 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gear box and has a fuel efficiency of 15.96 km/litre.For the exterior, the Polo continues to get the body coloured bumpers, chrome strip in front grille, body coloured outside door handles & mirrors, galvanized body with 6 years anti-corrosion warranty and 15 inch alloy wheelsThe interior of this car comes with gear shift knobs and interior door handles in chrome, chrome interior trims, storage compartments for 1 litre bottles, 60/40 split folding rear seats and superior ‘livon’ upholstery.With regards to safety, it is equipped with front disc brakes, ABS, front airbags for driver and co-driver and electronic anti theft immobilizer. On comfort, the Polo offers multi function information display including door opening warning, height adjustable driving seats, adjustable power steering that improves drive comfort, rear de fogger and power locks with remote transmitters. Manufactured in Volkswagen plant at Chakan, Pune the 1.6 l Polo is available to customers immediately.

Volkswagen is launching its Vento model mid-sedan, by the middle of September this year

Volkswagen,German automaker has going to start selling its seventh model, and its one of the mid sized sedan vento in Indian Market from September this year. The new Vento will be available at a price between Rs. 6.99-Rs. 9.23 lakh, comes with a 1.6 lt petrol and disel variants.“The new Vento is an extension of our commitment towards the Indian consumers of providing the best quality products at competitive prices. Designed for the Indian market, it will be a strong addition to our product portfolio”, volkswagen VW Group Sales India Member of Board Neeraj Garg said.

The main and exciting features of this Volksweagen vento is that they are giving a choice between manual and automatic transmission to their customers.The company currently offers compact cars- Beetle and Polo, premium sedans- Phaeton, Passat and Jetta, and sports utility vehicle Touareg in the country.

The petrol variant of the Vento is equipped with a 1.6 litre engine with an output of 105PS @ 5250 rpm and a Torque of 153NM @ 3800 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gear box and boast of fuel efficiency of 15.83 Km/l and 14.4Km/l respectively.The diesel variant is also equipped with the 1.6 litre engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, with an output of 105PS @ 4400 rpm and a Torque of 250 NM @ 1500-2500 rpm and has a fuel efficiency of 20.54 Km/l.

Volkswagen introduces new Volkswagen Beetle to hit on Indian roads from December

Volkswagen,European largest car-maker has introduced new stylish successful model Volkswagen Beetle to hit on Indian roads from next month December 2009.Thes new comes woth 6 models. They are Beetle-S, Beetle-S PZEV, Beetle-S Convertible, Beetle-S PZEV Convertible, Beetle-Blush edition Convertible, and Beetle- Blush edition PZEV convertible.

Fuel tank capacity = 55 liters approximately
Mileage of VW Beetle = 8.5KMPL in city and 12 KMPL in highway run.
Price of Beetle = $18,290 to $26,990 depending on the model.
Beetle car is having 2.5L, 150 hp I5 engine.
Maximum horse power = 150 at 5000 rpm
Maximum torque = 230Nm at 3750 RPM.

There are 5 speed manual transmission and 6 speed automatic transmission, depending on model or we can opt for any one.Optional sunroof optional facility is there for Beetle-S and Beetle-S PZEV. All models are having the air conditioning, power windows and power door locks. Leather seats are available with Blush edition cars only.No power seats are available in these Beetle cars.The seating capacity of all Beetle cars is 4 and the doors are 2 only.For entertainment purpose, it has CD player built-in. And it doesn’t have any Navigation system.

For safety, Beetle cars are having Airbags (Driver, Passenger, Side), ABS brake system, Traction control and stability control.

Volkswagen Beetle price in India is expected to fall in the range of Rs 18 to 20 lac's.
