Xerox Launches it's new color printer in India

Xerox India has launched its Xerox Phaser 6280 colour printer.It is designed specifically to suit the requirements of small and medium businesses (SMBs). The Xerox Phaser 6280 is available in two variants -- Xerox Phaser 6280 N and Xerox Phaser 6280 DN. The printer, supports advanced graphic arts applications, marketing applications and sales applications.

The Xerox Phaser 6280 is equipped with advanced business and networking features including fast colour and mono printing speeds, excellent print quality with printing resolution of 600x600x4 dpi, optional duplex printing, built in networking and USB support and excellent paper handling features, the company claims. The colour printer supports the EA-HG colour toner. It supports PANTONE Color approved Solid Color Simulations. Its built-in PANTONE spot-colour correction tables ensure quick and easy PANTONE colour matching. It supports a duty cycle of upto 70,000 pages per month. The printer is easy to set up and manage with Xerox CentreWare IS embedded Web page.The Xerox Phaser 6280 supports Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. Worlds First commercial space port is now in MEXICO

June 19, 2009 - this is the date that will be remembered in years to come as the day the world's very first purpose-built commercial spaceport broke ground in southern New Mexico.

Spaceport America will be built specifically for the commercial space tourism market, and promises the dawn of a bright future for the people of New Mexico.

New mexico Governer, Bill Richardson was there to celebrate the historic day and commented that he was happy to see Spaceport America finally becoming a reality after all the planning that has gone into the poject.

President of Virgin Galactic, Will Whitehorn, who also attended the ceremony, marked the event as an enormous milestone for Virgin Galactic. The company is investing $300 million for the development of a new space launch system which will be operational at Spaceport America once the facility opens.

Virgin Galactic was launched in 2004 with the aim of transforming the commercial space industry in terms of cost, safety and the environmental impact of space travel. The company has been actively involved in developing new technolgies in conjunction with Burt Rutan and Northrop Grumman's Scaled Composites. Scaled Composites has developed WhiteKnightTwo and SpaceShipTwo for the purpose of commercial spaceflight.

Spaceport America will be a 110,000-plus square foot-facility using energy-efficient green building techniques. The facility will be built to the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED rating system.

The facility will use sustainable and clean energy technology throughout the entire design, causing Spaceport America to not only be first in Commercial Spaceflight, but also to stand as an example for environmentally friendly structures of the future. Earth-tubes will pre-condition the air which will in turn save HVAC costs by approximately 50-70%, and the facility will also use solar thermal panels on the roof for hot water, among other unique designs.

The design of the facility was done by a team combined of British and American architects. Two design firms (URS Corporation and Foster + Partners), teamed up to submit the eventual winning design in an international design competition.

It is expected that Spaceport America will employ 3,500 people by 2020.

New High-Speed Internet Schemes From BSNL

BSNL the largest telecom service provider in India has introduced new offers for its CDMA platform-based data services subscribers . Users of the NIC cards can get a speed of 144kbps ,users of EVDO Cards get speeds up to 2.4 Mbps. BSNL is also offering roaming facility on these cards.

EVDO, is a standard for high speed wireless broadband. It is the acronym for "Evolution, Data Only" or "Evolution, Data Optimized". The official name, defined by the Telecommunication Industry Association, is "CDMA2000, High Rate Packet Data Air Interface". It is one of two major Third Generation, or 3G, wireless standards.

BSNL will offer the PCMCIA type of NIC and EVDO cards at Rs. 1,680 and Rs. 2,100 till Sept 30, 2009 for promotional purpose.The two new plans are Network Interface Card based and will be offered at a monthly charge of Rs 250 with deliverable speeds of 144 Kbps and the other plan priced at Rs. 650 per month delivered over EVDO backbone offering speed of up to 2.4 Mbps.

Unlimited data transfer every month is offered by the above schemes.Certain plans like Rs. 250 for NIC and Rs. 550 for EVDO cards will be discontinued by BSNL. The company will allow users to migrate to another plan within six months.

Free Upgrade to Windows 2007 from Lenovo

Lenovo has offered users a free upgrade to Windows 2007 for the systems sold.The update will be available with all systems sold between 26 June and 31 January with the Home Premium, Business and Ultimate versions of Windows Vista.It is a limited offer to home and small business system purchases. Large scale purchases will have to use Microsoft's volume licensing programme.

By the way Microsoft has offered a deferred cost programme to encourage more PC vendors to offer free upgrades to Windows 7.Both Microsoft and PC vendors are hope that this free update campign will attract more users to buy systems without having to wait for the release of new Microsoft windows 7 edition.

HTC Hero From HTC

HTC has announced its latest product, the HTC Hero,it’s Google Android device.

HTC is set to launch the phone in Europe starting in July and in Asia later this summer, and the north American version will be launched in late 2009. However, pricing is not announced at this time.

The HTC Hero comes with a new user Interface called HTC sense and has it’s signature curve at the bottom. In addition, it features a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen with an anti fingerprint screen coating. The phone comes in the dimensions 4.4 inches height, 2.2 inches width and 0.5 inch thickness.

The new Sense UI allows users to customize the device to their needs and give them more access to the information they want at a glance through widgets, customized profiles, and consolidated views of all communication with a contact, whether it be e-mail, text or multimedia message, Facebook status updates, or photos. In addition, HTC said that all of its future devices will use Sense UI.

Other highlights of the HTC Hero include GPS, a digital compass, gravity sensor, a 5-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD expansion slot. A search button on the phone provides a more contextual search, looking through not only your contact list and e-mail but also Twitter and other areas of the device.

Nokia Releases N97 and N86 in U.K

Nokia has released it’s new models N97 and N86 in UK.N86 is the first model having 8MP camera. The models are ready for sale at all Nokia flagship stores in London.The model is now released in U.K after a one week delay after it’s release in U.S

Nokia N97 will be available only through Nokia’s stores for a period of one week.After that period , customers in Britain will be able to purchase the new model through many retailers and carriers such as Vodafone, 3, Carphone Warehouse, T-Mobile, Orange and Phone 4U.

Free Antivirus From Microsoft

Microsoft has launched a trial version of it’s free antivirus named Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) software in US,China,Brazil and Israel.The new antivirus offers protection against protection against viruses, trojans, rootkits and spyware.The introduction of new antivirus marks the inclusion of free security software with Windows.

The software which can be freely downloaded from Microsoft website offers automatic updation for it’s users. How the new product will complete with established players in antivirus industry is to be seen.

Some comments about the new product have already come from some of the top antivirus manufacturers like Symantec,AVG.They point out that the new product will be suitable of general security only.They doubt it’s capability in giving specific purpose protection like firewall protection, web protection, anti-spam and identity safeguards.

75,000 trial versions of MSE, codenamed Morro, will be available initially in the US, Brazil, China and Israel. The software will be released in other countries later this year.
